Transforming Biodiversity Conference 2017

14-16 November in Napier

Cape to City and Poutiri Ao ō Tāne are ground-breaking and collaborative ecological restoration projects in Te Matau a Māui/Hawke’s Bay, along the eastern coast of New Zealand’s North Island. The projects are working to restore native species across 34,000 hectares of mainly primary productive farmland. Their vision is to bring native species back to Hawke’s Bay to thrive as part of the landscape – and our lives.

Transforming Biodiversity was a three day conference based on the learnings from the Cape to City and Poutiri Ao ō Tāne projects over the last four years. The conference was an an opportunity to find out detail about large scale ecological restoration and landscape scale predator pest management and included field trips to both project.

Speakers from other significant ecological restoration projects around New Zealand also contributed their experiences.

The presentations were recorded and are now available: see the conference website or their YouTube channel.
