Helping New Zealand establish a world-class biosecurity system is a top priority for the BioHeritage Challenge. We’re committed to inspiring people to take action to protect our biological heritage, and see our involvement in the New Zealand Biosecurity Awards as helping New Zealand achieve big goals such as Predator-Free 2050 and Biosecurity 2025.

We're a proud sponsor of the Science Award at this year’s awards, plus Challenge Director Dr Andrea Byrom is also on the judging panel.

Run by Biosecurity New Zealand, the awards recognise and celebrate outstanding contributions to protecting our country.

It's a way of celebrating people and organisations across the country who are contributing to New Zealand's biosecurity – in our communities, businesses, iwi and hapu, government, in the bush, and in our backyards.

Entries have now closed for the eight award categories, with winners announced at the awards dinner on 12 November in Auckland.
